Wonderfruit, an annual gathering that explores wonder through art, culture, music, and nature, was launched in December 2014 by the Thai-based production company. The event takes place on a farm at The Fields at Siam Country Club, outside Pattaya in Chonburi Province and emphasizes experiences that explore the relationship between mind and nature with musical performances, art and architectural installations, talks, workshops, wellness activities, and feasts by renowned chefs.
The event brings in global artists like Rudimental, Breakbot, Little Dragon, Seth Troxler, Massive Attack’s Daddy G, among many other renowned musicians to create one of the country’s best lineups. The festival is well-known for its astonishing art installations and unique stage set up, which draws attention from audiences all over the world.
The festival has quickly grown its community to over 15,000 in 2022 and is praised for its sustainability efforts practiced across each festival such as using eco-friendly materials and recycling that reduced usage of 200,000 cups in 2019.
In 2020, a condensed version of its 4-weekend festival called 'Mooban Wonder' was scaled back and eventually canceled due to the on-going pandemic crisis. However, during that time it sought out a vendor that had both ticketing solutions and innovative digital in-event solutions, which Ticketmelon quickly rose to the occasion with the technology that could support its needs. Luckily, the organizers turned to Ticketmelon again in 2022, which ended up being the largest festival to date and focused on the attendee's user experience — all with one vendor to make the event bigger and better.
Ticketmelon strategized closely with the organizing team over the course of 18 months to propose solutions that will help accomplish their goals of enhancing the attendee experience and create seamless transactions and automation to the fields. The team was very focused on access-control, considering the audience and venue would double in size. Ticketmelon rose to the occasion.
But wait, there’s more. Wonderfruit also partnered with Ticketmelon to launch its Wonder Cup redemption process, which uses the attendee’s unique RFID wristband to redeem for shorter wait times. Also, applying this same solution to help with meal redemption to hundreds of hard working festival staff this year so they didn't need to worry about their meals by just by scanning their wristbands. On the ticketing side, a donation feature was introduced as a simple add-on to ticket fees to support and promote awareness of the festival’s carbon footprint and sustainability requirements.
As the festival continues to grow, Ticketmelon will also continue to innovate and elevate Thai festivals to global standards.
